Butterfly Paper Chain

This is a fun simple quick craft that young and old will enjoy.

Materials:
Construction Paper
Markers
Scissors

Instructions:
  • Begin by gathering all the materials you need for this craft.
  • Take a piece of construction paper and fold it in half the long way.

  • Next, cut the paper along the fold.  Use one piece and save the other piece to make another chain.
  • Fold the paper in half, then in half again.  Unfold the paper and you will have four equal sections.

  • Fold the paper along the folds but this time like an accordion.
  • Draw a butterfly on the top square.  Use the picture to the left as a guide.

  • Cut out the triangles.
  • Unfold to reveal the butterfly shape.  Have children color each butterfly.

  • Either hang or place on a table to display your wonderful collection of butterflies!
